If it seems like everyone’s playing pickleball, you’re not far off the mark. It’s social, easy to learn, improves agility, balance, reflexes and hand-eye coordination. Athletes use it to improve reaction time. People with “tired” shoulders play without pain. Families love it because the “littles” and the “bigs” can all do it. And, if you’re interested, competition abounds at all levels. Bottom line, it's great fun and you'll be able to play the first time you try. Are you ready? Good! Because we have options.
The game is not hard to learn but a professional introduction to America's fastest growing sport will make it easier for you. This program, which is geared for absolute beginners, provides a safe and fun place for you to give pickleball a try. Registration is required. You can do so on the app or by calling the Club.
Thursdays 8:30 - 9:45 am | Athletic Indoor Courts | $10 per person per session
Regularly attending skills and drills sessions is an easy way to improve certain (or all) aspects of your game, including serves/returns, dinking, transitions, volleys/blocking, strategy etc. To ensure plenty of opportunity for practice, these sessions are capped at 8 registrants. Walk ups are welcome if space permits but will not be allowed to stay if the class is full so we highly encourage registration. TAC members can register on the app or by calling one of the Clubs. Guests should call Athletic to register and pay.
Basic Fundamentals | Athletic Indoor Courts | Tuesdays 8:30 - 9:45 am | Thursdays 6:00 - 7:15 pm
Advanced Drill | Athletic Indoor Courts | Thursdays 8:30 - 9:45 am
Members $10 | Non-members $18
The goal of this program is to hide an intense 60 minute instructor led cardio workout in the fun of pickleball. The cost is $5 per person for TAC members and $13 for non-members. This class is not offered during the winter months, but will pick back up when the weather warms up!
Our standard indoor court fees are as follows:
90 minutes - $24
60 minutes - $16
However, we have automated a “chalk discount” on indoor pickleball courts at Athletic because we do not have permanent lines and nets. For now, the 90 and 60 minute court fees for indoor pickleball play are $20 and $12, respectively.
The total court cost is split between players but, as a reminder, players are responsible for ensuring the Desk knows who is playing. Otherwise, the entire court cost will be charged to the member making the reservation. Please note, these fees do not include tax.
There is no charge for playing outdoors.
Players are responsible for bringing balls when reserving courts. Balls will be supplied for fee based services, including leagues, team and lessons. Demo paddles may be rented at the Front Desk for $5 per day or $10 overnight. Balls are available for purchase, as well.
At Athletic, pickleball players will be responsible for the set up and take down of the pickleball nets DURING THEIR RESERVED TIME. The nets should be stored behind the court drapes on the far side of the courts.
A member who is at least 15 years old may reserve the ball machine 1 day in advance by contacting the Club. Children using the ball machine must be directly supervised by an adult. Members who reserve the ball machine but hit or play instead will be charged regular court rental. Ball machine rental fees are as follows:
30 minutes - $8
60 minutes - $12
90 minutes - $16
